It seems like Adele is everywhere right now. Just recently she swept all her categories at the Grammy Awards and then went on to win again at the Brit Awards. She has been all over the place and next month she’ll be on the cover of Vogue.
For the most part the media seems to be talking about one of three things: the throat surgery that she had to endure so she could continue singing, her weight, and the sweeping popularity of her heartbreak single “Someone Like You”.
All of this is great but I just want to take a step back and focus on when I first heard about Adele. Oddly enough I started reading a lot about Adele not in music magazines but rather in fashion magazines that were praising her retro glam look. Finally I managed to catch her performing on Saturday Night Live in 2008 and that is when I fell in love with her voice. “Cold Shoulder” is the first song I ever heard by Adele and boy did that end up being my anthem when, just a few months later, I was in a not so loving relationship. So with that in mind, here is the music video for “Cold Shoulder”. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
