I like to think that I am pretty good at managing my money but there is one area where I tend to fall down on the job. I am almost always more willing to buy a product for one of my needs than to try a homemade remedy. I believe this may stem from years of trying to make things on my own and finding that by the time I spent money on supplies and hours trying to make something I was better off just buying an already made product from the store.
However, recently I discovered a few at home tricks that are truly easy and will actually save you money. Over the next little while I will share whatever tricks I have tried but here’s one:
Apple cider vinegar hair rinse – I have heard about this for ages but had never bothered trying it. This is a simple rinse that helps to get rid of all the gunk that has built up on your scalp from various hair products. Most people say that it’s best to mix about 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1 cup of water but since I take everything to extremes I mix between 1/3 and 1/2 of a cup of vinegar with 1 cup of water. I pour the cider and water into a water bottle and shake it up. After I wash with my regular shampoo and rinse it out, I use the cider rinse over my scalp. I swear this makes my hair feel softer and cleaner than anything else I’ve ever tried!
