I have to apologize for not having a real update in well over a week but I’ve been just a little bit busy writing my last final exams EVER!! Yeah. I’m trying not to freak out about the fact that this means I will finally have to put myself out there in the real world and get a real job. Right now I’m just hoping to enjoy the moment and take advantage of all the free time I’ll have before I find a job. In fact, I’ve been concentrating a lot on all the things I want to do after my last exam on Friday. Obviously the first thing I have to do is party. But after that I have a whooole list of things I’m looking forward to.
1. Doing nothing. I plan on spending at least three days not doing much of anything at all. I want to laze around, watch the fourth hour of the Today show and take afternoon naps. Other people talk about how they can’t sit still and get bored easily but I’m not one of them. I could easily spend an afternoon on my balcony just sitting around listening to music and blowing bubbles. Heck, maybe I’ll do that as well.
2. Reading. For the first time in years I won’t be bogged down by academic reading, studying and essay writing. I’ll have all the time in the world to read whatever I want. There are so many good books that I want to read but to start I am going to read absolutely mindless books. That’s right. I plan on working my way through the entire Gossip Girl series and then reading some really juicy classic chicklit like Valley of the Dolls.
3. Cleaning out my apartment. That’s right, I’m actually looking forward to cleaning. I don’t just mean sweeping up a little. I’m planning on doing a massive cleaning and getting rid of every last thing that I don’t need, don’t wear and don’t want. After that I am going to clean every last inch of my apartment from top to bottom. It will take a while and I know it’ll be tiring but I suspect that a steady stream of oldies music will keep me going.
4. Starting a Polyvore account. This is something that I’ve been considering for a while. Polyvore is a website that allows users to browse through thousands of clothing and accessories and put together composites of outfits. I don’t have a very good sense of style. I know what I like when I see other people put together an outfit but I can never seem to pull anything together myself. in fact, most of the time I just wear jeans and t-shirts. I’m hoping that my starting up this account I’ll be able to cultivate a sense of style and who knows, maybe someday I’ll actually be able to dress myself properly. Now all I need is a snappy fashionista name to go with it.
So that’s about it. It’s not much but it’s a start. Cleaning out my apartment is really the most important thing. There’s something about de-cluttering that actually makes me feel good. Either way, I have less than 48 hours until I am completely freeeeeee!
